Athens

Athens, the capital of Greece, one of the world's oldest cities with a history of around 3500 years, home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, widely referred to as the birthplace of democracy, has many sites worth seeing!

Thessaloniki

This 8-day tour invites you to stay in the romantic city of Thessaloniki, capital of Northern Greece, co-capital of Greece and 'The Bride of the Thermaic Gulf' as it is called, which was founded in 315 BC by Cassander of Macedon and today, 2300 years later, is Greece's second major economic, industrial, commercial and political center.

It is known for its festivals, events, and cultural life in general. For 2013, National Geographic Magazine included the city in its top tourist destinations worldwide.

You will not only have the opportunity to visit the most important sites and the many Christian and Byzantine Churches in Thessaloniki but also get the chance to walk through its well known market and meet people and taste the famous 'mezedes'.

Finally, you will use it as a point of departure for day-trips to places as Philippi, Pella, Vergina and the Holy Mountain Athos.

TIP. This city tour could also be expanded with a seaside holiday on the peninsula of Chalkidiki or the island of Thassos.
